Kira Anlyn Thurston

Kira is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) who has over two years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has BAs in Psychology and Social Justice Studies from Miami University as well as an MAEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. She is currently under supervision of Shelley B. Coleman, MA, LPC-S, RPT.

 

Kira brings a warm and gentle approach to counseling. She strives to help her clients better understand their unique wants, needs and dreams and how to best work towards them.

 

Kira uses therapy techniques from Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy. She is also currently undergoing EMDR training and can administer EMDR therapy upon request. Her overarching theoretical orientation is a Client-Centered approach, as she believes it is most important to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients to explore their most authentic selves.  

 

In her free time, Kira enjoys a handful of creative hobbies such as crocheting, scrapbooking, baking, and reading.
