Harry Livesay

Harry has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S) with over 25 years of counseling experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in modern languages from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Houston- Graduate College of Social Work.

 

Harry has spent most of his career working in public and non-profit, community-based behavioral health care settings providing counseling, support and empowerment for underserved communities in Texas.

 

Harry has also published articles and book chapters on helping others to find the “hero within”. Using the Joseph Campbell model of the heroes’ journey , Harry believes that all of us have a “call to adventure”, and that through our own “hero’s journey” we grow, learn and are transformed in achieving knowledge and understanding we didn’t know we could.

 

Harry’s counseling style focuses on strength, resilience and developing knowledge of new tools and skills to help adults and couples in dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, aging, job burnout, loss of focus, chronic illness, caregiver stress, and family conflict. Harry works with clients in successfully navigating their life journey to obtain insight, happiness and fulfillment in their careers, relationships and lives.

 

Harry's other activities include providing continuing education presentations through the University of Houston-Graduate College of Social Work and writing articles on social media sites. Harry is also a vintage toy and comic book collector and enjoys the company and supportive energy of his two pet cats.
